Wrinkle Relaxers (eg. Botox) and Dermal Fillers are prescription medications in Canada and can only legally be prescribed by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician in Ontario. Professional qualifications and credentialing are key to safe and beautiful results.
Results are natural and customized to your treatment needs. Treatment times range from 10-30 minutes depending on the services requested. You will start seeing results from Botox treatment in as little as 24 hours and lasting up to 4 months. Results from dermal fillers can be immediate and duration can be from months to years depending on the product used.
These products know as Botox, Dysport and Xeomin contains tiny amounts of a highly purified botulinum toxin protein refined from the bacterium, Clostridium botulinum. These product target one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Your specialist will inject these muscles to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.
Facial fillers replace lost volume to smooth away wrinkles and define facial contours providing immediate results. Hyaluronic acid formulation (Restylane, Juvederm, Emervel) is a clear gel specifically formulated to act like your body's own hyaluronic acid to visibly reduce moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds for a more youthful appearance. They can also be used to enhance and treat volume loss in the lips.
We strive to provide you with a procedure that is comfortable and pain free. Many patients report little or no discomfort with neuromodulator injections, some patients report a slight pinching sensation. When performing hyaluronic acid injections the treatment area is first numbed using a topical or injectable agent. Many of the leading products we use has lidocaine manufactured into the product to improve comfort.
Nurse Practitioners providing cosmetic injection services function in the same manner as physicians providing this service. A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with advanced university education and has the autonomous authority to diagnose, prescribe and treat in Ontario. Our injector Sarah Reynolds, NP is physician trained and certified by the Chellsey Institute of Health & Beauty in cosmetic injections and a member of the College of Nurses of Ontario and Nurse Practitioner Association of Ontario.
